Mega Mosque Update

Plans for a mega-mosque to be built next door the Olympics have taken a hit. Up till now the Islamist group, Tablighi Jamaat, were using temporary buildings to house a mosque on the site. Planning permission for those buildings ran out last Tuesday and so they are now in breach of planning regulations.

Additionally, more than 2,500 Muslims living near the proposed site have signed a petition against the mosque because they recognise that it will make their children into extremists. This is great news because it is, perhaps, the first real example of moderate Muslims making any sort of stand.

If the MSM shine a small spotlight on this it might encourage more action from other moderates. It would also help it those 2,500 people made themselves more visible. However small this petition may be, it is the first step in the right direction. Let's hope the left wingers in charge of the planning permission don't betray us all.
